The Associate Grants & Contracts Analyst serves as a key member of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Grants & Contracts Office, responsible for supporting post-award financial administration and compliance for sponsored projects. This position ensures adherence to federal, sponsor, and institutional regulations while assisting with award management, financial oversight, and agreement processes. The Associate Grants & Contracts Analyst collaborates with pre-award and departmental staff to provide excellent customer service to researchers, administrators, and sponsors, ensuring effective stewardship of sponsor funds.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and possess an accounting and research background. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of federal regulations and institutional policies are highly desirable.
Work Location: Remote(will have to come onsite as needed)
The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Responsibilities
Award Management
Perform account financial reconciliation for assigned departments
Monitor sponsored award spending for allowability and compliance with regulations
Manage payroll and sponsored project effort
Prepare required financial and accounting reports to sponsors
Complete financial and non-financial closeout according to institutional policy
Support institutional audit engagement and response
Financial Management
Generate monthly standard invoices and monitor cash payments
Process monthly Letter of Credit draws and related reporting
Monitor cash balances and perform collection and cash management duties
Data & Agreement Management
Perform account set-up and ensure accurate data capture in post-award systems
Review subrecipient entities for risk assessment and execute subaward agreements
Prepare operational reports and metrics for internal and external audiences
Compliance & Customer Service
Work with Principal Investigators, divisions, and sponsors to resolve issues
Stay current on sponsor requirements, institutional policies, and regulations
