About the Role:

This is an 18-month, defined-arc position embedded directly with the founder and CEO. It is not a support role. It is a thinking and building role — scoped to the highest-priority problems the company is working on at any given time.

You will move across strategy, product, research, and operations depending on where the leverage is. Some weeks that looks like deep technical analysis. Some weeks it looks like shipping an AI tool. Some weeks it looks like preparing a brief for a government customer.

What you'll do:

• Own research and analysis pipelines for strategic decisions: market mapping, competitive intelligence, technology assessment, procurement landscape
• Build AI-native internal tools — agents, automations, dashboards, prototypes — that eliminate friction in how the team works
• Convert raw signal into structured intelligence: technical documents, defence circulars, academic papers, procurement notices
• Support product and business development efforts: PRDs, pitch materials, capability briefs, government response documents
• Drive high-priority projects end-to-end with real accountability for outcomes
• Be present for decisions and conversations that most people take a decade to access

Experience: 1–3 years in the real world.

Background:

Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics — B.Tech, BS, M.Tech, or integrated degree from a rigorous institution.

You are:

• AI-native by default. LLMs, agents, and code are already instruments of your daily thinking. You build the tools you need to solve the problem. This is not a skill to develop — it is how you already work.
• A systems thinker. You see structure in messy problems. You decompose before you execute. Second and third-order effects interest you more than the immediate answer.
• Founder-minded. You want to understand the whole machine, not just your assigned part. You are drawn to understanding why decisions get made.
• Low ego, high standards. Comfortable doing unglamorous work when needed. Deeply bothered by mediocre output.
• Comfortable with ambiguity. You orient quickly under uncertainty, find the right question before chasing the answer, and keep moving.

This role is designed as an 18-month arc. We are explicit about that — and we think the right candidate will see it as the feature it is.

Months 0–18 · Analyst, Founder's Office

Embedded at the centre of the company. Close to the founder and every major decision. Building judgment about hard-tech, defence markets, AI products, and company-building under real constraints.

Exit Path A · Product or Operations at Kawa

If there is mutual interest and demonstrated growth, transition into a product management or operations leadership role as Kawa scales.

Exit Path B · Operator or Founder Elsewhere

Leave with the founder's active support, a strong network in Indian deep tech and defence, and the judgment to build something of your own. We will invest in that outcome.
