About the Department
The Centre for Career Growth and Experience (the Centre) in McMaster’s Faculty of Engineering supports student success through career development, cooperative education, and experiential learning. We offer personalized career advising, job search support, workshops, networking events, and opportunities to get involved in over 70 student clubs and teams.
Through our holistic approach, we ensure that engineering students are well equipped to navigate their career paths and achieve success in the workforce. Within the Centre, the Experience and Engagement Team enhances the student experience through the delivery of experiential learning, leadership development, and community engagement. Working with all students to deliver inclusive events, personalized advising, and hands-on learning opportunities, the Engagement and Experiential team helps students build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive from first year to graduation and beyond.
About the Position
We welcome applications for the position of Assistant Program Coordinator within the Centre for Career Growth and Experience (the Centre). The Assistant Program Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the undergraduate student experience within the Faculty of Engineering. This position focuses on implementing student development programs that foster engagement, resilience, and career readiness through experiential learning opportunities. Working closely with faculty, staff, student groups, and community partners, the coordinator helps create a collaborative environment that supports student success.
Responsibilities include supporting the coordination and administration of a large volunteer leadership program, planning and delivering workshops and events, and maintaining resources and data to ensure effective program delivery. This role is ideal for someone passionate about student development, event coordination, and building inclusive, impactful experiences that prepare students for life beyond the classroom.
Job Summary
Responsible for the implementation of student development programs for the undergraduate student population. Utilize a diverse range of experiential learning strategies to promote engagement, resilience, skills development, and future employability of students. Create a culture of collaboration and partnership in ensuring student success by cultivating and maintaining relationships with faculty, staff, student groups, student governments, and the greater community.
