Position Overview:
This position provides comprehensive data engineering and analytics support to the U.S. Army Enterprise Marketing Office (AEMO) and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Two full-time professionals will design, build, and maintain data structures, datasets, extracts, dashboards, and analytical capabilities that enable accurate evaluation of national and local Army marketing initiatives. The role supports both on-site work at AEMO headquarters in Chicago, IL, and remote operations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain data structures within Army systems (e.g., EMMS, Army Vantage) to support marketing event assessment and predictive analytics.
- Engineer standardized datasets for integration of data from advertising, marketing, and social media platforms.
- Create, manage, and refine datasets and data extracts to support marketing performance measurement and reporting.
- Synchronize data with Army enterprise systems and ensure seamless data integration across EMMS, DHW, LEMA, ARISS, AEM, and Army Vantage.
- Develop reporting metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to support decision-making for AEMO and USAREC.
- Perform detailed analysis to assess the reach, impact, and effectiveness of national and localized marketing campaigns.
- Classify marketing events by type, demographic profile, intended response, and actual results.
- Collaborate with USAREC teams to determine file formats, structures, and data requirements for integration into enterprise tools.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert and system administrator for analytical and marketing data tools.
- Leverage datasets from advertising, social media, web platforms, and Army systems to support comprehensive analytics for recruiting and marketing outcomes.
- Support the creation of a common operating picture through coordinated data engineering and standardized reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Business Analytics (MSBA), Operations Research (MS), Information Systems (MS), or an approved equivalent.
- Formal academic instruction in databases, distributed systems, machine learning, and associated programming languages.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing analytics and data engineering.
- Experience with Army Accessions enterprise systems and terminology, including EMMS, DHW, and LEMA.
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, Oracle, Sybase) and understanding of associated database schemas.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with predictive analytics for marketing optimization.
- Familiarity with Army recruiting, marketing operations, and accession workflows.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating cross-functional teams and presenting analytical findings.
