Assists in the maintenance of park buildings, facilities, and rides with respect to aquatics, landscaping, carpentry, paint, fiber glassing, and plumbing. Assists in scheduling; developing project specifications; negotiating with, selecting, and scheduling contractors as needed. Assists with bids and orders materials as required for such projects.
Participates in the planning and execution of all aspects of Worlds of Fun Contruction projects. In conjunction with the Manager and Six Flags Planning and Development team, assists in determining priorities and schedules, developing bid package specifications, negotiating wtih, selecting and scheduing cotnractors,s engineers and architects. Assists with researching, bids and ordering of materials and/or services required for such projects.
Selects and oversees the scheduling, training and supervision of all assigned ddepartments as well as the Ocesans of Fun Maintenance Foreman to ensure these employees are knowledgeable of and proficient in proper procedures. Takes disciplinary action when needed. Addresses and attempts to resoplve employee concerns including union grievances.
Maintains records required of the park by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Reviews storm water discharge reports for permit.
Assists in the preperation of annual department capital, operating expense, and labor budgets. Monitors weekly and takes appropriate action if necessary.
Adheers to and enforces all Collective Bargaining Agreement policies and procedures.
Adheres to and enforces all Six Flags and specific Park policies and procedures, inlcuding safety, attendance, and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Analytical skills necessary to organize workload to establish priorities.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with management, union employees and seasonal employees.
Mental and emotional capability to make sound decisions quickly during potentially life-thretening situations in the event of a park emergency.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business need.
Ability to pass a madatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
Abiliyt ot pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
Thorough knowledge and understaning of ASTM and ADA accessibility requirements for buildings and facilities.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Basic knowldege and understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance and OSHA guildelines.
Abilty to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to write, speak and understand English at a level sufficient to follow written policies and procedures; complete a variety of basic forms; and interact with guests including understanding and responding to specific questions.
