What the job involves

• We’re looking for an experienced Android Lead to take ownership of the Android development at Manychat and lead a growing team of Android engineers
• This is a key leadership role where you'll shape both the technical direction and the people behind it
• You’ll act as a role model, mentor, and coach — someone who thrives on growing others while driving impact through strong technical guidance
• As the Android Lead, you’ll work closely with the Mobile Engineering Manager and cross-functional partners in product, design, and backend to deliver high-quality features and support the long-term evolution of our mobile platform
• You’ll participate in team planning, contribute to hiring and onboarding, and make sure your team remains healthy, motivated, and aligned with Manychat’s goals
• Own the Android Stream: Lead and guide the Android engineering direction at Manychat, ensuring scalability, high quality, and alignment with business goals
• Grow and Support Your Team: Manage Android engineers directly — set expectations, provide continuous feedback, track progress, and support their growth through regular 1:1s, PDPs, and real-time coaching
• Deliver with Excellence: Oversee the delivery of product features, mitigate risks, ensure high quality of increments, and help manage technical debt
• Collaborate Effectively: Partner with the Mobile Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and other stakeholders to drive quarterly goals and roadmap planning
• Recruit and Onboard: Participate in hiring, run interviews, support onboarding of new engineers, and guide them through their probation with clear expectations and mentorship
• Shape Culture and Practices: Create a safe and inclusive team environment, set strong behavioral standards, and help foster a culture of transparency, ownership, and excellence
