Scidrones is a pioneering spinoff from the University of the Aegean, founded in 2021 and based on Lesvos Island, Greece. Our company specializes in remote sensing, GIS, and AI-supported geospatial intelligence, and our products leverage aerial imagery and deep learning to create advanced analytics and automation tools for mapping, monitoring, and AI training.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our on-site team and drive innovation in deep learning and image analysis. You will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and maintaining our core computer vision models. While our current focus is on applications using CNNs, a key part of your role will be to research and propose new architectures, frameworks, and innovative ideas to enhance our capabilities and explore new product lines.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize robust computer vision models, with an (initial) strong focus on object detection and segmentation.
Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing Deep Learning production models.
Conduct applied research into new AI/ML/DL frameworks, libraries, and techniques to improve model performance.
Manage data pipelines, including data collection, cleaning, annotation, and augmentation for training deep learning models.
Collaborate with the development team to integrate models into production environments.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of professional or relevant research experience in ML/DL.
Very strong programming skills and familiarity with SOTA ML/Deep Learning libraries.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field. MSc in a related area is a strong advantage, and a Ph.D. is a plus.
