AI Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled AI Engineer. This role is based at our headquarters in Mendrisio. The ideal candidate will bring a patient, organized, and problem-solving approach to their work and must have prior experience in a similar field.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be:

• Design and develop AI models and algorithms from scratch to solve business and customer problems
• Implement AI solutions that integrate with existing business systems to enhance functionality and user interaction.
• Improve and optimise existing models.
• Stay current on AI knowledge, trends, and regulations.
• Contribute improvements to the team’s working practices, to ensure a high standard of quality and efficiency
• Produce and review technical, quality and production documentation
• Support products through lifecycle

For this role we believe you have:

• BSc in a scientific discipline. MSc preferred.
• Python proficiency
• Experience with an Object Oriented programming language (Java preferred)
• Experience with Classical Computer Vision (especially OpenCV)
• Experience with at least one of the major AI frameworks (PyTorch preferred)
• Experience with Neural Networks applied to computer vision and/or time series prediction
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Open mind and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Will be considered a plus:

• Experience with 3D modeling and 3D reconstruction
• Experience with C++

Other skills:

• Problem solving skills and reasoning ability
• Self-motivated with a creative pioneer spirit
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good oral and written communicative capabilities.
• Working well in teams with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Electronical, Optical and Software.
