About the Role

As an AI Engineer, you will build agent workflows that power clinical processes. You'll work directly with founding team and clinicians to ship AI agents that improve care delivery while complying with HIPAA and other security requirements.

Examples of work you will be involved in

Develop AI agents that healthcare team can delegate work to and get 10x more done
Build multi LLM workflows using advanced techniques like plan & execution, self-reflection, context management, dynamic tools etc.
Build context retrieval via RAG from varied clinical data sources
Leverage tool calling and MCP servers to execute actions
Create evaluation methods that measure both AI performance and clinical safety
Red team healthcare AI systems to find vulnerabilities

You'll be encouraged to be creative, own projects end-to-end, and shape how AI transforms healthcare delivery.

About You

You are passionate about healthcare and AI technology
You have strong software engineering fundamentals
You enjoy working with a small group of expert level programmers
You've shipped software products, especially AI or ML components
You're security-first. Data security and HIPAA compliance baked into how you design systems
You move fast (but don't break things)

Requirements

3+ years building software applications. 1 year building AI systems in production
Hands-on experience with RAG architectures and vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, etc.)
Experience with agent frameworks. LangGraph preferred, but we're open to other frameworks if you've shipped with them
Strong Python skills and comfort with modern AI stack

Bonus Points

Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR)
Clinical workflow automation or EHR integration experience
Experience with HIPAA-compliant systems and healthcare data security
Open-source contributions to healthcare AI or agent tooling
Background in clinical research or healthcare operations
