Why this role exists
We've built an AI-powered research platform that takes brands from brief to full report in minutes. We work with some of India's biggest consumer companies– Coca-Cola, Britannia, Foxtale– and we're growing fast.
We're hiring our first Account Executive to own the revenue side of that growth. Not assist it. Not support it. Own it– from the first cold outreach to a signed deal, and everything in between. You'll be shaping how Consuma goes to market, which means what you build here becomes the playbook.
What you'll actually do
Pipeline and prospecting
- Build the outbound pipeline from scratch– cold calls, cold outreach, referrals, whatever works
- Own prospecting, discovery, demo, negotiation, and close across large consumer- facing enterprises in FMCG, FMCD, Automotive, Retail, and adjacent sectors
- Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities to meet and exceed quota
Selling and stakeholder navigation
- Engage Marketing, Insights, Brand, and Transformation leaders at India's largest consumer enterprises– CMOs, Heads of Insights, Brand Heads, and the teams around them
- Navigate multi-stakeholder deals across the full buying circle: CXOs, technical buyers, influencers, and end users
- Run demos that are built around the prospect's category, context, and research needs– not a generic product walkthrough
- Sell on value, not features. Understand what the client's insights team is struggling with today and show them exactly how Consuma fixes it
Domain and craft
- Build a genuine understanding of the consumer research space– how enterprise insights teams work, what slows them down, and where AI changes the equation
- Use that understanding to sell consultatively, not transactionally
Who we think this is for
3 to 5 years in B2B SaaS sales with a proven record of closing enterprise deals. You're likely coming from:
- A SaaS company selling into FMCG, CPG, or large consumer enterprises
- A Martech or insights platform with enterprise clients
- Any B2B role where you've owned a full sales cycle and closed deals above ₹20L ACV
You probably:
- Have sat across the table from a CXO and walked out with a signed deal
- Are a natural builder of pipeline– you don't wait for leads, you create them
- Know the difference between feature-selling and value-selling, and only do one of them
- Are comfortable in ambiguity– as an AE, there's no playbook yet, because you're writing it
- Have high energy and high ownership. You treat your number like it's the company's number, because at this stage it is
This role is probably not for you if:
- You need a well-warmed pipeline and inbound leads to hit your quota
- You're more comfortable in a defined sales motion than building one
- You'd rather have a sales manager absorb the hard conversations
Compensation
We pay at a competitive end of the Indian sales market and offer meaningful ESOPs appropriate to our stage.
