Job Summary
The Academy Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Academy, ensuring academic excellence and sustainable commercial growth.
The role is responsible for curriculum development, program delivery, faculty management, and overall student experience, while driving business development and revenue generation across corporate and government sectors.
The Director is accountable for expanding the Academy’s market presence by securing B2B training contracts, government-funded programs, strategic partnerships, and certification alliances, while maintaining high-quality, industry-aligned learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan aligned with organizational objectives and revenue targets.
- Define annual growth targets across retail (individual learners), corporate, and government segments.
- Identify expansion opportunities including new programs, certifications, industry verticals, and regional markets.
- Conduct continuous market intelligence on IT workforce trends, emerging technologies, and funding opportunities.
- Position the Academy as a market leader in industry-driven training solutions.
- Represent the Academy at executive forums, industry conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
2. Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Own and drive revenue growth across: Corporate training programs, Government-funded training initiatives, Sponsored bootcamps and grants, Certification partnerships
- Develop and execute a structured B2B sales strategy targeting: Corporate L&D departments, Technology firms, financial institutions, Government agencies and ministries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in corporate and public sectors.
- Lead proposal development, tender submissions, and contract negotiations for large-scale training projects.
3. Curriculum & Program Development
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of academic and professional training programs.
- Ensure curriculum remains current, industry-aligned, and certification-ready.
- Design scalable delivery models (hybrid, online, bootcamp, enterprise onsite).
- Develop structured pathways to certification and job readiness (ICT, DevOps, cybersecurity, data, cloud, etc.).
- Align training programs with employer competency frameworks.
4. Faculty & Talent Management
- Recruit and manage high-Caliber instructors and facilitators with strong industry backgrounds.
- Implement instructor performance metrics tied to learner outcomes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and continuous development for faculty.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
5. Student Experience & Outcomes
- Ensure high-quality learner journey from enrolment to graduation.
- Implement mentoring, career coaching, and employability programs.
- Track student engagement, completion rates, certification pass rates, and job placement metrics.
- Develop employer pipelines to improve placement outcomes.
6. Operational & Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
- Own program profitability and cost optimization.
- Monitor and report on KPIs including revenue, margin, enrolment growth, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and data protection requirements.
7. Industry Engagement & Brand Positioning
- Build strategic partnerships with: Corporate organizations, Government agencies, Certification bodies, Academic institutions
- Secure internships, sponsored projects, and guest facilitators.
- Lead branding initiatives to position the Academy as a trusted workforce development partner.
Support marketing initiatives including corporate outreach campaigns, Government engagement forums, Industry roundtables, Open houses and workshops.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Business, Human Capital Development, ICT, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Relevant certifications in instructional design, program management, or technical fields are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in learning & development, education management, or academy leadership roles.
- Experience developing technical, digital, or vocational training programs.
- Proven track record of managing teams, budgets, and academic operations.
Skills & Competencies

- In-depth knowledge of learning methodologies, instructional design, and curriculum development.
