About Us:
Saras Micro Devices’ vision is to be a leading component and power delivery network solutions provider for semiconductor devices. To achieve this vision, Saras needs a talented, experienced senior-level capacitor engineer familiar with component manufacturing processes and materials, preferably focused on processes and materials used in the manufacturing of solid polymer foil capacitors. The role is a full-time, on-site position, and the candidate will be a critical member of our R&D team. The candidate will work on the development and characterization of passive component processes and materials.
Position Overview:
The nature of this internship program is to support Saras Micro Devices with the execution of their product roadmap gate goals. Specifically, this internship will involve working with R&D Process Engineering to develop/improve current processes with a focus on scaling to low-volume manufacturing.
Intern Opportunity 1: (Computer Science)
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in Bachelor (Junior/Senior Year)
Program Area of Study: Computer Science, Database Engineering
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Learning Outcomes:
Understand the electrical characterization process for semiconductor capacitor devices and the key parameters used to evaluate device performance
Develop and improve automation scripts to process and organize electrical measurement data.
Design data workflows that connect measurement systems to analysis tools and engineering datasets.
Gain experience working with engineering data analysis platforms (such as JMP) and structured datasets used for statistical analysis.
Build data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate electrical results, testing progress, and operational metrics.
Intern Opportunity 2: (Mechanical/Automation)
Responsibilities:
Non-destructive thickness measurement methods (Keyence CL or other)
Shearing methods/tools for aluminum foil and FR4 cut outs
Dicing tape application (uniform pressing) and part removal
Vacuum chuck for screen printing on DEK tool Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting summaries.
Laser automation
Participate in Team and department meetings.
Present progress updates and final project outcome
Document technical workflows and collaborate with engineers to implement data-driven improvements.
Demonstrate Saras Micro Devices’ values through work habits, teamwork, and initiatives.
Optimize Schema: Audit and refine the existing MySQL database structure to ensure efficient storage of production and test data
Structural Development: Build and maintain relational tables for manufacturing entities including panels, laminates, stacks, devices, and test results.
Automated Ingestion: Build Python scripts to parse, clean, and format raw measurement data from CSV and Excel source
Spatial Mapping: Develop logic to map device-level results to specific panel coordinates.
Dashboard Creation: Use Plotly Dash to build interactive web components for real-time production monitoring
Visual Analytics: Design interactive plots, yield visualizations, and panel heatmaps to identify performance trends
Traceability Logic: Create data links that track a component’s lifecycle from raw Panel → Laminate → Stack → Finished Device.
Metadata Integration: Record process step metadata and associate test results with specific manufacturing parameters
Code Quality: Refactor scripts to improve modularity and adhere to clean-code standards.
Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation for the database schema and all automation scripts.
