
UWROV (Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles Team) is an interdisciplinary club at the University of Washington focused on building underwater robots. Founded over 10 years ago by Oceanography students, the team has expanded to include various engineering and marine science disciplines. UWROV consistently ranks in the top 10 at the MATE ROV World Championship, with notable achievements including 1st in Technical Documentation and 2nd in the NOAA Ocean Exploration Video / Machine Learning Challenge in 2023. The team aims to provide students with hands-on experience in ocean technology, interdisciplinary engineering, and professional skills, emphasizing learning, design, and building through their work in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Business departments.
