AI-Mind is a European research and innovation project funded by the EU Horizon 2020 program, developing AI-driven diagnostic tools for early dementia risk prediction in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The project integrates two AI-based digital tools, the AI-Mind Connector analyzing EEG brain images to detect early brain network disturbances, and the AI-Mind Predictor combining multiple data sources to provide over 95% accurate dementia risk predictions. These tools are delivered via a cloud-based diagnostic platform to support healthcare professionals in early diagnosis and intervention, aiming to shorten diagnosis time from years to a week and extend dementia-free periods. The project involves 15 partners across 8 European countries, including hospitals, SMEs, and research institutions, with a budget of approximately 14 million euros and clinical studies involving 1,000 participants in Norway, Finland, Italy, and Spain. AI-Mind also emphasizes ethical standards, health technology assessment, and broad dissemination for long-term impact in dementia care.
