
ReSoURCE aims to digitally transform and improve the sustainability of refractory recycling. It centers on AI-supported multi-sensor sorting hardware using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy and hyperspectral imaging to sort materials. Automated ejection and optimized preprocessing enable high accuracy, even for particles below 1 mm. The project is EU Horizon funded and led by RHI Magnesita as part of a consortium of European research and industry partners. The system supports circular economy goals by enabling material reuse across the refractory recycling value chain.
