The ONTOX project aims to develop a sustainable solution for advancing human risk assessment of chemicals without animal testing, aligning with 21st-century toxicity testing principles. It focuses on creating new approach methodologies (NAMs) to predict systemic repeated dose toxicity effects. These NAMs will be computational systems powered by AI, integrating biological, toxicological, physico-chemical, and kinetic data. The project will address specific adverse effects in the liver, kidneys, and developing brain. ONTOX will facilitate commercialization and solidify Europe's leadership in animal-free chemical risk assessment.
