
The Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML) is a collaborative research initiative between Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and Technische Universität München (TUM). As one of six national AI Competence Centers in Germany, MCML is permanently funded by the German and Bavarian governments' AI strategy. The center unites leading Machine Learning researchers, fostering talent and transferring innovations to industry and society. MCML encompasses eleven research areas in applied and foundational ML, with over 70 Principal Investigators and Associates and more than 430 Junior Members. Their mission is to strengthen AI expertise nationally and internationally and make AI potential accessible to science, industry, and society.
