MAGICIAN is an EU co-funded project that develops autonomous robotics to identify and repair defects in manufacturing, improving safety and efficiency. It uses two modular robots: a sensing robot for defect analysis and a cleaning robot for repair, powered by AI trained on operator data. The core technologies include robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data acquisition and data engineering, enabling human-robot collaboration. The project is coordinated by the University of Trento and involves 11 partners across 7 countries, with automotive use cases demonstrated by Tofaş and integration by Altinay, and plans to expand to other scenarios through open calls. It aims to broaden applicability with adaptable, generalizable solutions for manufacturing.
