EuroGenomics Cooperative is a European network dedicated to reliable cattle breeding, founded in April 2016. It brings together breeders' organizations and AI organizations across Europe to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for cattle breeding. The cooperative focuses on genotyping for breeding and herd management, sharing genetic data for reliable traits, performing applied research, and conducting genomic evaluations using a joint European reference population. This joint population, initiated in 2009, is the largest in the Holstein breed with over 38,500 genotyped bulls, increasing the reliability of genomic breeding values across 11 countries and more than 10 million Holstein cows. EuroGenomics also offers the EuroG MD chip for parentage verification and genomic selection, and provides evaluation services for international AI bulls. Their business model revolves around collaborative data sharing and genomic evaluation services within the cattle breeding industry.
