BioConvergence for Health (BioConvS) is a major research and innovation initiative funded by the Ile de France region, aiming to structure communities in synthetic biology, biotherapy, and bioproduction. It guides the transition from scientific excellence to innovation, positioning the Île-de-France region as an international leader. BioConvS facilitates access to life design and engineering technologies through a network of distributed biofoundries, pooling high-tech equipment for molecular engineering, CRISPR, DNA synthesis, and bioreactors. It also develops an AI-supported digital platform for researchers' profiles, expertise, and projects to foster collaboration. The initiative supports collaborative projects, theses, and student participation in competitions like iGEM, focusing on five R&D axes: bioengineering and bioproduction, therapeutic proof-of-principle development, advanced analytical methods, digital and AI tools for data analysis and modeling, and responsible, ethical, and inclusive bioconvergence.
