CAMO-Net (Centres for Antimicrobial Optimisation Network) is a Wellcome-funded, multidisciplinary global research partnership focused on addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and optimizing antimicrobial use in humans. The network operates through five national hubs in Brazil, India, South Africa, Uganda, and the UK, supported by technical support and development centres in Ghana, Malawi, and Thailand, and shadow national sites in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Timor-Leste. CAMO-Net develops contextually relevant tools, technologies, guidelines, and practices to improve antimicrobial prescribing, diagnostics, and stewardship, particularly in the global south where AMR impact is disproportionate. Their research themes include technology and innovation (AI, diagnostics, data integration), context and behavior, medicines management, and data infrastructure. CAMO-Net aims to create a sustainable, equitable global ecosystem for AMR research, influencing policy and empowering healthcare professionals through capacity building and knowledge sharing.
