BIOMISA (BioMedical Image and Signal Analysis Research Group) is a research group formed in 2013 at NUST College of EME, Pakistan, focusing on developing new algorithms for biometrics and computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) systems for medical applications. They leverage state-of-the-art image and signal processing, pattern recognition, and deep learning techniques. BIOMISA collaborates with the Emerging Technologies Lab (ETL) to nurture research and professional skills among students through internships, workshops, and seminars. Their research spans biomedical signal processing, medical imaging, biometrics, embedded systems, AI, machine learning, data analytics, and IoT. Funded by multiple agencies, they work on projects like OCT image analysis for retinal diseases, glaucoma detection, and more, aiming to integrate solutions into healthcare systems like i-Hospital.
