AI-ARC is a European Union Horizon 2020 funded project developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Virtual Control Room (VCR) to enhance maritime border safety and security in the Arctic and High North. The platform integrates AI, machine learning, and virtual reality to detect anomalies, provide threat assessments, and improve situational awareness for maritime actors, including Coast and Border Guard Authorities, and the fishing and cruise industries. The project aims to provide a user-friendly, robust, and efficient solution that supports decision-making and safety without increasing workload, while also promoting cooperation and societal resilience. It leverages existing systems, integrates with the CISE environment for interoperability, and focuses on addressing user needs through collaboration with end-users and practitioners.
