
Advanced Robotics at the University of Washington (ARUW) is a student coalition of over 70 interdisciplinary members from engineering, computer science, physics, art, and business focused on robotics technology. Founded in 2015, ARUW competes annually in the RoboMaster competition against over 300 universities worldwide, designing and building eight robots with unique capabilities. The team is organized into sub-teams specializing in administration, mechanical design, software development, and electrical hardware, utilizing technologies such as SolidWorks, C++, Python, Rust, PyTorch, and Altium. ARUW provides a collaborative environment for students to develop technical and interpersonal skills, preparing them for diverse career paths post-graduation. The organization is supported through sponsorships and fundraising efforts and maintains a strong community and outreach presence.
