You’ll lead a team of engineers while staying close to the technology, helping to design platform orchestration systems, improve engineering quality, and solve complex technical challenges across backend, cloud, security, and infrastructure domains.

You’ll have significant ownership over technical decisions, team execution, and engineering best practices. You’ll work closely with product, platform, and leadership stakeholders to ensure the team delivers robust solutions that meet both business and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their growth, delivery, and technical development.
• Drive architectural decisions for backend and distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design and build cloud-native services using technologies such as Go, Python and related backend frameworks.
• Provide our customer-facing (stream aligned) teams with XaaS, all services they need to develop their service independently
• Guide the implementation of secure authentication and authorization solutions using IAM, Kerberos, OIDC, and platforms such as Keycloak.
• Collaborate company-wide with engineers on system performance improvements, service optimization, and reliability engineering.
• Establish and promote best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and deployment processes.
• Conduct code reviews, support technical problem-solving, and ensure high engineering standards across the team.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate product and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and team-building efforts to strengthen engineering capability over time.

• Working only as a people manager without hands-on technical involvement.
• Maintaining legacy systems without opportunities to improve architecture or engineering practices.
• Focusing purely on delivery coordination without ownership of technical decisions and system design.

What You Bring

• Strong experience as a senior / lead backend or software engineer with clear progression into technical leadership.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and drive delivery in complex, distributed environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with backend development using Go, Python and modern service-oriented architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native engineering, containerization, and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical expertise in designing secure systems, including authentication and access management solutions.
• Strong understanding of scalable system design, performance optimization, and operational reliability.
• Experience improving engineering quality through testing strategies, code review culture, and development standards.
• A pragmatic leadership style with an ownership mindset and strong communication skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with mentoring, coordination, and strategic technical direction.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience leading teams in hybrid / international environments.
• Familiarity with Go, software architectures, Kubernetes and underlying infrastructure.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or migrating platforms toward more scalable architectures.
• Involvement in hiring, technical interviewing, and onboarding processes.
• Experience working in high-throughput or security-sensitive environments.
