Role Overview

Gig Engineer is seeking a  Structural Resident Engineer  to join the site team on an industrial project for its client. You will work alongside senior engineers and be responsible for day-to-day site supervision, quality control, and contract administration of structural works.

This role is suited to a medior-level engineer – candidates with 3 to 7 years of experience are encouraged to apply. Professional registration is not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and monitor structural works (concrete, steel, etc.) for compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work progresses according to schedule and quality requirements
• Review and interpret structural designs, shop drawings, and method statements
• Manage site documentation, including daily reports, non-conformance reports, and site instructions
• Administer contracts (JBCC, NEC, or FIDIC experience is advantageous)
• Coordinate with the project team (engineers, architects, quantity surveyors) and attend site meetings
• Assist with technical queries and provide practical solutions on-site

Requirements

• Education:  Diploma or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Experience:  3–7 years in structural engineering, with proven site supervision experience
• Registration:  Not required (candidate engineers or technologists are welcome)

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction
• Familiarity with construction contracts (JBCC, NEC, or FIDIC)
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Personal Attributes:
• Hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently under guidance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

Advantageous

• Experience on industrial or agricultural projects (silos, tanks, processing facilities)
• Knowledge of BIM / Common Data Environment platforms (Asite, ACC, BIM360)
• Experience with Prokon, Revit, or Autodesk Robot
