The ideal candidate will develop and maintain high-quality automation software for our xCUBIO bioreactor platform. You will work at the intersection of industrial automation, embedded software , and bioprocess technology , creating scalable and testable control logic that runs on real hardware in labs and production plants worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain automation code in B&R Automation Studio (IEC 61131-3 / Structured Text)
• Implement and optimize process control loops, sequences, and safety logic
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and external devices (DO/pH, mass flow controllers, pumps, valves, etc.)
• Contribute to HMI development and system usability
• Analyze and extend existing software modules
• Troubleshoot automation issues during FAT/SAT and in customer support
• Collaborate closely with engineering, hardware, and process teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Automation Engineering or solid practical experience
• Experience with any programming language (Structured Text, C/C++, Python, etc.)
• Interest or first exposure to industrial automation (B&R is a bonus but not required)
• Basic understanding of sensors, control loops, or process logic is helpful
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to work hands-on with real equipment
• Fluency in either English or German
