Role Description
Internship Call – Exploring Collaborative AI Agents for Chip Design (Zurich). AI agents aren’t just getting smarter, they’re learning to work together. And in chip design, where many specialized roles interact, multi-agent collaboration is crucial. If you’re in Zurich, study at ETH (or nearby), and have a solid software/AI background, and are interested in exploring the future of chip design: this internship is for you. In this project, you’ll explore how multiple specialized agents can coordinate to design hardware - just like different specialized engineers work together to build a chip. You will work with our setup of specialized agents, which might involve experimenting with new agent configurations, improving the orchestrator or planner, designing a focused new sub-agent, or evaluating multi-agent strategies on real workflows. We’ll choose a concrete direction together based on where you can make the most impact.
This is an exploratory, systems-oriented role: you’ll dive into real multi-agent setups, uncover what works (and what doesn’t), and help shape the future of collaborative AI in engineering.
