Software Engineer, Build & Tools - Contract Job Role Responsibilities: * Develop, update, and maintain software application build and release pipelines and processes to deliver software across a variety of platforms, including PlayStation consoles, Web, Mobile, and PC * Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to ensure scalable, repeatable, and secure deployments across various environments * Build applications and tools that streamline application development and deployment processes * Facilitate the needs of dependent teams (engineering, QA, and operations) and work with external teams to achieve results * Monitor and measure software telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) to identify gaps and prioritize improvements within our pipelines and tools * Build dashboards to visualize metrics and communicate the health and performance of our systems * Proactively diagnose and resolve CI/CD issues, as well as issues reported by development teams * Write documentation (Tutorials, How-to guides, Reference guides, Explanations) for our pipelines, infrastructure and tools * Collaborate with team members, globally, across all SIE offices, to effectively build and deliver PlayStation software experiences * Work with diverse web technology stacks Minimum Requirements: * A strong understanding of object-oriented principles * Familiarity with common data structures and algorithms * Experience with Git, GitHub * Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript * Familiar with common web tooling and frameworks * Familiar with container technologies such as Docker * Familiar with Akamai and Content Delivery Networks * Understanding of "Phased Releases" and how it applies to CDN's * Comfortable navigating the Linux command line Preferred Requirements: * Experience working with RESTful web APIs Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes * Strong understanding of Content Delivery Networks, particularly using Akamai * Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems * Familiar with telemetry related technologies (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, etc.) * Experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.) * Familiar with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery / Deployment (CI/CD) * Excellent communication and collaboration skills Equal Opportunity Statement: Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
