We’re a fast-growing healthcare technology startup building a secure, resilient, and scalable private cloud infrastructure to power our next-generation health monitoring solutions. As we expand, we’re looking for a Senior Network & Systems Administrator with deep, hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, private cloud architecture, Kubernetes, and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).
This is a foundational role for someone who thrives in greenfield environments—where you’ll help shape secure, high-performance infrastructure across multiple datacenters and cloud-edge workloads.
Position: Senior Network & Systems Administrator
Location: On-Site
Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Director of Cybersecurity & IT
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and manage modern private cloud infrastructure and enterprise network systems from the ground up.
• Lead projects involving Kubernetes clusters, hypervisors (Hyper-, KVM, Xen), and HCI platforms (e.g., Ceph, S2D).
• Architect and implement SDN solutions (e.g., Cilium, Flannel, Open vSwitch, or VXLAN overlays) t support multi-tenant K8s environments.
• Configure and manage physical datacenter switching fabric, including core, TOR, and aggregation layers (e.g., Dell OS10, Arista, Unifi, etc.)
• Implement robust firewall architectures (e.g., Sophos XGS, Palo Alto, Fortinet), including segmentation, NAT, VPNs, and deep packet inspection.
• Build and manage layer 2/3 enterprise networking, including VLANs, LACP, jumbo frames, MTU tuning, QoS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Integrate network and storage infrastructure into resilient Kubernetes deployments (e.g., Talos, RKE2, K3s).
• Develop infrastructure automation workflows using Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell.
• Implement performance monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Prometheus, Wazuh, etc.) across critical systems.
• Support FedRAMP, HIPAA, and FDA 510(k)-aligned secure infrastructure deployments.
Required Qualifications
• 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems, or networking roles.
• Strong physical network administration experience with enterprise switches, VLANs, link aggregation, and L3 routing.
• Proven experience with SDN, overlay networks, and K8s network policies.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining hyperconverged private cloud infrastructure (Ceph, S2D, Nutanix, etc.).
• Solid hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, including storage/network integration and day-2 operations.
• Strong background in firewalls, network segmentation, VPNs, and secure remote access.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, KVM, XCP-ng, etc.).
• Proficient in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or Ansible).
• Familiar with system monitoring, log aggregation, and metrics platforms.
Preferred Experience
• Familiarity with IoT or edge compute environments.
• Experience with Azure Government, FedRAMP High, or NIST 800-53.
• Experience working in multi-datacenter environments with SDN overlays or MC-LAG.
• Exposure to Zero Trust networking and modern identity-aware firewall policies.
