The salary range is $69K-$86,500 with a 10% bonus. This particular plant has about 25 employees but during the pack season (August - October) they will have up to 100 employees.
Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Brooten, MN
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all quality assurance and food safety programs within the facility
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, HACCP plans, GMPs, and company quality standards
- Lead the implementation, verification, and maintenance of HACCP and preventive control programs
- Conduct and oversee internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections
- Investigate quality issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Partner with operations, sanitation, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure quality and food safety standards are met
- Maintain quality documentation, reporting, and key performance metrics
- Train plant personnel on food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the quality team
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality systems and plant performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field preferred
- Several years of quality assurance experience within food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations
- Experience with regulatory inspections and third-party audits
- Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQF, BRC, or other GFSI-certified programs
- Prior experience managing a plant-level quality team
- Strong background in continuous improvement and process optimization
