The company is focusing on developing robot hardware and physical intelligence with the ambition to build the next innovation generation of humanoid robots together with the biggest players in the world like Tesla, Figure, Boston Dynamics, Toyota, Xiaomi, 1X Technologies.. etc. We expect to catch the trend of application of humanoid robot in manufacturing and industries by 2027-2028
Abstract
The position is among 10 first core mechanical team members, each for individual expertise needed to develop a humanoid robot from scratch. The candidate takes responsibility for the whole mechanical workflow in the company at the beginning. In the next phase, the candidate is expected to lead the mechanical team.
Collaboration of the candidate within the company follows the below processes:
(1) With CEO/CTO/ Mechanical Team Lead to have input of the Concept, Robotic calculations, Simulation results
(2) With an industrial artist to have input of the robot shell design
(3) With another mechanical engineer in the Production Company to send out the drawing and make sure the components are producible
(4)With control team to give the output model
(5)With the testing and assembly team to verify the design
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Module Assembly
: Perform precise assembly of mechanical modules for robotic systems, with a focus on small parts ranging from 1-20mm.
Testing and Analysis
: Conduct comprehensive testing of assembled modules to identify and analyze mechanical issues.
Reporting:
Document and report findings, progress, and issues directly to the Mechanical Lead.
Quality Control:
Inspect and verify the quality of incoming commercial and custom-fabricated mechanical parts.
Tool Management:
Utilize various mechanical tools and Quality Control (QC) tools effectively and safely.
Documentation:
Create and maintain Assembly, Quality Control (QC), and Instruction documents.
Expected qualification and background of the candidate
Education:
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, higher education of a high ranking university
Experience of running and/or programming a modern CNC machine for more than 3 years
Proficiency in using a variety of mechanical tools and QC tools.
Experience with 3D design software such as Fusion 360 and SolidWorks.
Proven experience in assembling small mechanical parts
Demonstrated experience with transmission system
Experience with structural optimization
Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques to ensure manufacturability for mid and high volume manufacturing
Experience bringing complex products from concept to production
Fluent in drawing, simulating and handling large amount of parts in a machine (for instance, ~500s of a robot)
Experience with high standard mechanical design, winning well known robotics competition, experiences with patenting.. are good to have qualifications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
