About the Role
Job Title: Founding Engineer

As we scale, we're looking for a Founding Engineer to join us at this pivotal moment. You won’t just write code; you’ll help shape the architecture, make key product decisions, and define our engineering culture. This is a rare opportunity to build with high ownership alongside a small and passionate team who cares deeply about craft, clarity, and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the development of our medical coding backend
- Help build the medical coding LLM agentic solution in close collaboration with our CTO
- Build the frontend of the solution (doctors & admin operators user-facing app)
- Build data pipelines between hospital systems and our tech stack, ensuring interoperability while adhering to HDS (health data security) standards
- Work closely with the CTO to refine our application’s architecture, balancing fast iterations and scalability
- Engage in the fast-paced, product-focused environment of an early-stage startup
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Fullstack Dev Role
- Proficiency in Node.js & Typescript
- Experience in DevOps and infrastructure (no need to be proficient)
- Ability to work with high-level goals, break down complex problems, and deliver results independently
Technical Stack:
- Backend: Typescript with NestJS, Express, Prisma, Postgres
- React, TanStack, Tailwind
Engineering Mindset:
- Data security is our foundation, given our work with sensitive health data
- Focus on solving user problems, not shipping features — deep product involvement is essential
- Full type safety from database to UI
- Rapid development with tools like Cursor
- Automated best practices with eslint, Prettier, Jest, and TypeScript
- Leverage the latest technologies and libraries, while sometimes using old tech that does the job
- Infrastructure should empower — not block — product iteration
